Today, Nokia announced that Symbian Anna would be available for download. Symbian Anna is the software update for the Symbian^3 OS (e.g. N8-00,E7, C7 and C6-01). Symbian Anna would have Improved Text Input, there would be a portrait QWERTY keyboard for fast typing, Better Browser, Enhanced Maps, Business Feature, NFC or Near-Field Communication which is a lot faster than Bluetooth pairing and sharing, and for developers Flashlite 4, Java Runtime 2.2, Qt Mobility 1.1 and Qt 4.7. The software update would be available through Ovi Suite on PC and Software update on the phone.
The countries that these updates would be available are Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Germany, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Thailand, UAE, and more. I don't know if it would be available in the Philippines because sadly this morning DHL picked up the Nokia N8 that I have and shipped it back to UK.
