Nokia E5 Symbian smartphoneIntroduction
The Nokia E5 is the latest new generation smartphone from the mobile phone giant that tries to keep a smart balance between the professional and personal lives of its users.
Design
The great build quality and QWERTY keyboard will make it popular among the messaging fans. Lookwise it is very much like Nokia C3 though it sports a much better build quality. The E5 sports a solid-feeling silver metal backplate. You can also opt for a variety of colors like white, brown, grey and blue and black with chrome accent. The front houses a very well built and comfortable mini QWERTY keyboard and a 2.36 inches screen. The keypad contains a couple of useful shortcuts too. The D-pad is large and comfortable too. The top houses 3.5mm headset connector and the micro-USB port.
Key Features
With the E5, Nokia is offering switchable home screens for business and personal preference. The E5 has all the sleek smartphone features like HSDPA, Wi-Fi and A-GPS with Symbian S60 3rd Edition operating system and a good number of apps can be downloaded. The Nokia E5 supports both Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Note Traveler for mailing on the go. In addition, there is access to Ovi Mail and up to ten personal email accounts. You also get direct access to Tweeter and Facebook and YouTube. Web browsing is smooth through Wi-Fi and 3G. With GPS built in and Ovi Maps on hand, roaming around should be no bother on the Nokia E5.
Multimedia
The 5mp camera is excellent for both stills and videos. With 256MB of built in memory and a 2GB microSD card provided, you can store a fair amount of music and video for playback on the Nokia E5 - although the option to expand the microSD is always there. There is an FM radio too and the music player to entertain you any time.
Cons
Apps are hidden in the folder rather than on the home-screen.
Verdict
The Nokia E5 has put together the best of Nokia's recent business-focused handsets and made them flexible enough to suit the non-business users.
